Wanneer die wasgoedlyn sing...

Ek het die naweek wasgoed gewas, en die wind het lekker gewaai, sodat ek amper al my wasgoedpennetjies moes gebruik om die wasgoed op die lyn te hou. Toe ek in die huis sit, hoor ek hoe die wasgoedlyn sing van die wind wat dit draai (sommige mense sal meen die wasgoedlyn kort Q20... ek fokus eerder op die gesing). Dit het my laat terugdink... Toe ek laas moes wasgoed vassteek in 'n wind wat waai: dit was toe ek by my liewe vriendin, Griselda gekuier het oor Kersfees 2017 (of dalk was 2016?). Na 'n hele paar stoppe het ons uiteindelik by Kareedouw gestop, om Kersfees te vier en die "vuil klere" sak was vol en die tasse leeg. Ons het wasgoed gewas tussendeur geselsies maak en lag en deel. Hulle wasgoedlyn is agter die huis, een van daardie regte laaaaaaang plaas wasgoedlyne met pale in die middel en rye drade waarop jy 'n hele huis se beddegoed gelyk kan hang, as jy wil. Ek het daar besef dat ek nie eintlik nodig het om die wasgoed vas te steek by my huis nie, want ...

...Physio... Chiro... Nurse... Health Care Professional, Please do not forget to TALK to your patients. They pay (a lot of) time and money to make use of your expertise. They know that you are extremely busy (and very clever), but don't assume that they don't want to know what you are seeing and/or doing or what you are working and planning in/with their treatment. Also don't use so many medical terms that they "rather not ask" next time. Watch them... Listen to them... and not only with your ears but with your heart! Because isn't that why you became what you are: because you have a heart for people and to help people get well and stay well? Yes time is money and yes situations are stresful but don't loose your empathy (your ability to put yourself in your patient's shoes).
